I have some nasty scrapes on my foot, how long should I keep bandaids on them?

I got some nasty road rash on the top of my foot (was bike riding in sandals and slipped off the pedals...idiot move I know). I have clean bandaids on it now and I've changed them once already, but how long should I keep wearing bandaids on the wounds?
