Cfl bulbs and their wattage?

It should be okay. The "equal to 100 watts" means the lumens it will produce (units of light) approximate what an incandescent 100 watt puts out. The issues they would limit a fixture to 60 watts for would be the heat that the materials close to the bulb can withstand, and the amperage pulled through the wires used in the fixture. In both cases, you'll be safer than a 60 Watt incandescent. Less heat and pulling fewer amps over the wire because of the lower wattage.
