I can't stand Fluorescent lights! Please help!?

I live in an apartment and there are fluorescent ceiling light fixtures all over. The light really bothers my eyes. Is there a "warmer" fluorescent light out there or an adapter that I can use to replace the the two prong with a screw in bulb? either cfl or incandescent will do. I just can't deal with this neon white light!!!
