Do I need a special dimmer switch for CFL bulbs that are dimmable?

I'm switching out some bulbs for CFL's which are dimmable bulbs, but someone at Home Depot told me if you buy the dimmable CFL bulbs, you need to buy a "special" dimmer switch? Is this true? Can't I use the current dimmer switch I have for my old incandescent bulbs? Thanks!
