Do CFLbulbs work in the old "Razors Only" light fixtures?

In my apartment bathroom is one of those old silver light fixtures with the two pronged plug in that says "RAZORS ONLY" above it (and omg does that sucker hum when the lights on and the fan is off). I want to put in CFL lightbulbs because the 100 watt light bulbs it takes are getting more and more scarce and only 1 of two is currently working. Do the CFLs work in those "antique" RAZOR ONLY light fixtures or will they just short out or blow up or something?
