they don't really save much $ on the electric bill, but they last waaaay longer so you save $ by not replacing regular incandescents as often. And you shoulda shopped around a bit for CFL's cuz The Home Depot usually runs specials on them around this time of year for a pack of 4 bulbs for about $3 and the dimmable ones for around $7.
